Staying a student in a field that reinvents itself

Technology is the only trade I know where your tools are replaced while you are holding them. The model you mastered in March is deprecated by October. The framework that paid your bills becomes a legacy migration.

You can resent that or you can build a practice around it. I chose the practice: a standing block of hours each week that belongs to learning, no matter what deadlines are burning. Courses, papers, other people's code, other people's failures.

The compounding is real. Almost every capability I sell today began as something I studied before any client asked for it. Automation, then AI, then agents. Curiosity has been my most reliable business development strategy.

I write about what I learn because teaching is the strongest test of understanding, and because the people I serve deserve a guide who is honestly still climbing, not one selling maps of a mountain he no longer visits.
